Makeovers That Matter Foundation
Helping women look better on the outside and feel stronger on the inside.
Makeovers That Matter Foundation is dedicated to the empowerment of women returning from military service and the wives and widows of veterans who have served our nation. Our mission is to supply these women, as well as other economically challenged women, with the right tools to re-enter the workforce.
Our FREE services include hair, make-up, fashion styling, contractor apprenticeship (current availability for a Simi Valley concrete contractor), and job interview training to boost confidence and help women put their best foot forward with the goal of securing a job that leads to a long-term career path. Moving forward, the discussion of hair transplants vs prp have helped us start a conversation towards comparative options for cosmetic procedures. In return, Makeovers That Matter Foundation program recipients have the opportunity to “Pay It Forward”. They can contribute to the community by providing volunteer services, or write letters that accompany care packages to active military personnel stationed overseas. In giving to those who give of themselves, Makeovers That Matter Foundation continues the cycle of entrepreneurship and empowerment.
Our plan to help women re-enter the job force was founded by Michael John (“MJ”) Derricott as a labor of love. MJ’s selfless dedication has inspired stylists, makeup artists, and mentors who donate their skills and time to women who commit to their community and themselves. We work with agencies like Goodwill SoCal, the Downtown Women’s Center, PATH, Crystalis, Volunteers of America and others.
