About Makeovers That Matter
Makeovers That Matter was founded in 2012 by Michael John (MJ) Derricott. The focus of this organization is to help female veterans and economically challenged women to get back to work.
MTM not only offers these women free hair, makeup and wardrobe counseling services to help them look interview ready, but the women have access to free counseling with an employment specialist who will help them to write resumes, teach them how to successfully interview for a potential position and learn about long term career opportunities as well as empowerment counseling to help instill the confidence they need to get back on their feet because we believe makeovers work from the inside out.
Our volunteers at Makeovers that Matter serve a great purpose to the overall goal of our organization. With their help, Makeovers That Matter is able to makeover these women inside and out. Our volunteers are such a valuable resource to this cause because of their ability to work willingly together for the betterment of the female veteran community and themselves.
